Job Title: Drafter Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Drafter to create and revise detailed electromechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD. You will collaborate with engineers to translate concepts and specifications into technical drawings, ensuring all designs comply with National Electrical Code (NEC) and UL 508 standards. Additionally, you will maintain and organize drawing databases, review and verify drawings for accuracy, and support the development of bill of materials and technical documentation.
Responsibilities
+ Create and revise detailed electromechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.
+ Collaborate with engineers to translate concepts and specifications into technical drawings.
+ Ensure all designs comply with NEC and UL 508 standards.
+ Maintain and organize drawing databases and version control systems.
+ Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
+ Support the development of bill of materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
+ Participate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability and compliance.
+ Assist in troubleshooting and updating drawings based on field feedback or engineering changes.
Essential Skills
+ 5 years of experience with wiring diagrams and electromechanical drafting.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD.
+ Understanding of NEC and UL 508 Codes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to communicate and work well with the manufacturing and engineering teams.
+ Understanding of cable assembly.
Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite with hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Flexible hours can be offered if needed, but presence during core hours is required. You will be part of a team of 18 members, interacting daily with approximately 7-8 people, in a group of 11 total in operations.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Springfield, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
