Job Title: Health & Safety Manager

Job Description

The Health & Safety (H&S) Manager will develop, implement, maintain and enforce company policies and procedures. This position works closely with the operations group as well the design and development of facilities, work areas and procedures to ensure all health and safety regulations are being upheld. This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing relevant elements of the EH&S Management System and monitoring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies/procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with the design and development of facilities, work areas, and work procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety recommendations.

+ Develop, update, and enforce company safety policies and procedures for manufacturing, assembly, and distribution operations based on federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

+ Develop training programs to educate employees on equipment safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

+ Maintain the Health & Safety action plan to ensure timely completion of corrective actions, proper control measures are identified, and appropriate roles and responsibilities are assigned.

+ Ensure all necessary records and reporting requirements are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in safety, OSHA, EHS standards, and safety training.

+ Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other relevant field highly preferred.

+ Experience as a Health and Safety professional in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry, is highly preferred.

Work Environment

The role requires being on the floor and on one's feet the majority of the time. The position works Monday to Friday, 40-45 hours per week, which is significantly less than most of the automotive industry. The company is investing heavily in new equipment and has been a stable automotive supplier in the area for several years.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
