    Experience with literacy interventions, progress monitoring tools, and MTSS frameworks preferred.

    Position Summary/Responsibilities:

    Description:

    Athena Middle School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Reading Teacher to provide specialized reading instruction to students with IEPs as well as students requiring Tier 2 and Tier 3 reading interventions. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students in building critical literacy skills, closing achievement gaps, and fostering a love of reading.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide targeted, small-group, and individualized reading instruction aligned with student needs.

     

    Implement evidence-based literacy interventions for students with IEPs and those identified for Tier 2/3 support.

     

    Collaborate with special education teachers, classroom teachers, counselors, and support staff to align instruction and intervention plans.

     

    Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

     

    Participate in IEP meetings, RTI/MTSS processes, and parent communication as needed.

     

    Contribute to a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
