    Job Summary and Responsibilities

     

    Assists with admission and preparation of patients for endoscopy procedures; assists physicians with procedures and documents appropriately; processes equipment according to guidelines; assists with orientation of students and new staff. This person may also assist with collating departmental statistics, ordering supplies. Responsibilities include:

     

    + Demonstrates ability to assess/interpret age-specific data.

    + Encourages involvement of patient/family/significant other in decision making related to plan of care.

    + Role models clinical base of practice within specialty or assigned areas, including patient advocacy and ethical conduct

    + Collaborates with staff in assessing, establishing priorities and identifying realistic outcomes for patient population served.

    + Demonstrates expert clinical nursing practice through direct care activities serving as a role model for staff and maintaining clinical competence.

    + Identifies actual and potentially unsafe care practices and initiates actions as appropriate to prevent and/or correct,and report in a timely manner.

    + Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to all of the patients served within his/her clinical areas, (i.e., neonates, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics).

    Job Requirements

    + 1-2 years Med/Surg experience and 1 year GI/ Endoscopy experience.

    + Basic Life Support - BLS

    Pay Range

    $33.26 - $41.54 /hour
