    Position Summary:

    CVS Health is seeking a Senior Manager - Software Development Engineering to help lead our Angular/Native iOS/Android teams. This position will lead and grow a dedicated engineering team. You will balance people management with technical leadership, driving team performance, career development, and engineering excellence while ensuring scalable front-end platform delivery that meets business goals. Your inclusive leadership style and strategic thinking will elevate team productivity, retention, and technical standards across the organization.

    People Management & Leadership:

    + Lead, coach, and develop engineers across multiple skill levels (junior through senior), conducting regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning

    + Build and maintain a high-performing, inclusive team through effective hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies

    + Foster a collaborative culture that promotes psychological safety, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the team

    + Partner with Business, Product Management and Design to align team priorities with business objectives and delivery timelines

    Technical Leadership & Strategy:

    + Guide technical discussions within the team and represent the team in cross-functional technical discussions

    + Define and evangelize engineering best practices—architecture standards, code quality guidelines, and operational procedures

    + Drive technical decision-making processes, helping the team navigate trade-offs and reach consensus on complex technical challenges

    + Establish and monitor key engineering metrics (velocity, quality, incident response) to ensure continuous improvement

    Operational Excellence:

    + Oversee platform evolution strategy—collaborate on current and future application architecture, scalability planning, and technical roadmaps

    + Ensure robust testing strategies and quality standards; work with the team to select appropriate frameworks and maintain coverage targets

    + Drive continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines, development tooling, and observability practices

    + Champion secure-by-design principles and coordinate with security teams on vulnerability management and compliance

    Required Qualifications:

    + 7+ years professional software development experience

    + 5+ years experience working in Angular and/or iOS/Android Native applications

    + 3+ years of experience in engineering management or technical leadership roles

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience managing multiple engineering teamsand delivering complex platform initiatives

    + Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders and drive organizational alignment

    + Strong understanding of supporting products in a SAFe environment specifically how current/future work is scheduled to come through planning, design, engineering

    + Knowledge of Jira, Teams, Confluence and other cooperation tools

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

     

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $130,295.00 - $260,590.00

     

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
