Shop Estimator and CNC Programmer

Position Details:
+ This position will be In-Office
+ Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
+ $32.00 -$49.00 an hour/ DOE
Primary Function:
The Shop Estimator & CNC Programmer is responsible for estimating and quoting pricing for high-mix, low-volume fabricated parts while also developing CNC programs for 3-axis machined and lathe parts using Mastercam. This role requires strong collaboration, communication, and analytical skills to ensure accurate cost estimations and efficient machining operations.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
+ Estimate and quote pricing for machined, turned, sheet metal, and welded parts, including labor hours, material costs, finishing costs, and lead times.
+ Analyze project requirements, plans, and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
+ Utilize Mastercam to create CNC programs for 3-axis machined and lathe parts based on engineering blueprints and design data.
+ Configure tools, set machine speeds and feed rates, and validate CNC programs for accuracy and efficiency.
+ Perform failure analysis and provide technical feedback on fabricated part designs to improve manufacturability.
+ Utilize precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges, to ensure parts meet specifications.
+ Maintain documentation related to estimates, CNC programs, and process improvements.
+ Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and resolve technical challenges.
+ Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
+ Associate’s degree or equivalent required.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating fabricated parts and CNC programming.
+ Advanced proficiency with Mastercam for 3-axis machining and lathe programming.
+ Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, and cost estimation principles.
+ Experience with ProShop ERP, NetSuite ERP, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) is a plus.
+ Understanding of GD&T symbols and their applications.
+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within and outside of one’s immediate workgroup.

+ Pass a post-offer background verification
Work Environment :
Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to lift or move heavy objects up to 40lbs and must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions.
