Job Highlights:
Shift Start and End Times: 7:30am - 4:00pm. (Monday-Friday. 8HR Shift) with No Weekends! Must be able to type 45wpm.
Job Summary:
Responsible for gathering, processing, and maintaining patient medical records.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Retrieves medical records by following chart-out procedures and electronically tracks the chart request within the electronic health record.
+ Maintains strict confidentiality of all medical records.
+ Purges, repairs and creates new charts as needed.
+ Receives incoming charts from external sites, uses the electronic health record to electronically track the chart. Sorts charts for internal delivery or filing.
+ Ensures medical record availability for external delivery by bagging and delivering to courier area.
+ Open, sort and deliver U.S. and interdepartmental mail.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
+ High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
+ Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
+ Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
+ Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
+ Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
+ Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
+ Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
+ Rare climbing.
