The **Business & Industry Copilots** group is a rapidly growing organization responsible for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 suite of products, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, AI Builder, Microsoft Industry Solutions, and more. We are looking for a **Principal Data Scientist** to join our team— **Power Platform Core** !
This is an exciting time to join our group and work on growing our Power Apps and Power Automate business while transforming existing apps with AI. You will lead our data strategy to inform product decisions, drive investment portfolio, and identify new growth areas. The data science leader will partner with our engineering teams to solve complex problems at scale while doing so with impeccable quality.

Responsibilities
+ Demonstrate a product-driven growth mindset to define and drive the data science strategy for Power Platform Core, aligning with product and business goals.
+ Leverage data focused on developing product growth strategy, data informed product decisions, leveraging AI and creating self-service solutions for PM and SWE to leverage.
+ Leader will have a robust background in financial growth and analysis, data infused product decisions, customer experience and customer journey along with support decisioning.
+ Lead cross-functional initiatives to leverage data for product innovation, customer insights, and operational excellence.
+ Build predictive models, optimization algorithms, and causal inference frameworks to inform strategic decisions, customer and market insights along with product performance.
+ Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and business stakeholders to translate data insights into actionable outcomes.
+ Develop scalable data pipelines and experimentation frameworks to support rapid iteration and learning.
+ Mentor and grow a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and impact.
+ Ensure data integrity, privacy, and ethical use of AI across all initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
+ Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
+ **OR** Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
+ **OR** Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years data science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
+ **OR** equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of experience in multiple roles including domain expertise in finance, product, support, customer experience, and Machine Learning.
Other Requirements:
+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

+ OR equivalent experience.
Data Science IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
