The University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Education. This two-year, full-time position is expected to begin January 1, 2026.
The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Dr. Shiyan Jiang on research projects focused on AI literacy across diverse stakeholders. The primary emphasis will be on K-12 students and teachers, with potential extensions to workforce development and employee learning. This is an in-person position based in Philadelphia.
The successul candidate will posess/demonstrate:
+ A completed doctoral degree in Learning Sciences, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is required by the start date.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential
+ Highly valued qualities include strong academic writing skills and effective interdisciplinary collaboration experience.

+ Academic writing & Publication: Describe your approach to leading the writing of a journal article or conference paper. How do you balance conceptual framing, methodological rigor, and clarity for diverse audiences? Please provide an example from your past work if possible.
+ Mentorship & Collaboration: How would you mentor graduate or undergraduate students in conducting data analysis and writing their first academic paper? What strategies would you use to both support and challenge them?
+ Future direction & Fit: What is your long-term vision for your academic career, and how do you see this postdoc position helping you achieve it? Why do you think you are a strong fit for this role in our research team?
