+ 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

+ Experience building and scaling Machine Learning Infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

+ Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

+ 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.

+ 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

+ 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

The Vertex Agent Platform team delivers the industry’s leading, enterprise-ready agent platform that can power real-world agentic use cases, along with agents built on top of the platform. We build a high-code agent development SDK/Kit (also known as ADK), a managed runtime (the Agent Engine) with a suite of managed services (e.g., Session, Memory, Example Store, Sandbox, etc.), and an agent inner-loop server (that brings the high-ceiling agentic capabilities on top of Gemini). We work closely with the Orcas and GDM model quality teams to upstream the enterprise agentic use cases to our foundation model team. Internally, we partner with many teams across Google to bring the cohesive agent platform that powers use cases such as the data science agent, research agent, and computer use agent, etc.

The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

+ Build scalable infrastructure and products on Google Cloud that power AI Agents in production. You will collaborate closely with our researchers and engineers to productionize innovative techniques with enterprise readiness.

+ Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.

+ Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.

+ Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.

+ Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
