Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

+ 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.

+ 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

+ 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

+ Experience with low-level Android development.

Preferred qualifications:

+ Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.

+ Experience in Android development, operating systems, or low-level system software/device driver/HAL development.

+ Experience developing and debugging embedded systems.

+ Experience in design, development, testing, and deployment for Android BSPs.

+ Experience in productizing and shipping consumer-facing products.

+ Excellent problem-solving, investigative, and troubleshooting skills.

In this role, you will work on Fuchsia OS including the kernel, drivers, frameworks for components, and power, graphics, testing, and infrastructure.

Fuchsia is a modern, open source operating system that is simple, secure, updatable, and performant. It’s a general purpose OS, designed to power an ecosystem of hardware and software, and provides core operating system functions like system resource management, a driver framework, and software abstractions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

+ Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain the Fuchsia system software stack, and integrate it with Android.

+ Optimize, measure, track and improve software quality, including system stability, power consumption, and system performance to deliver an enhanced end user experience.

+ Identify user experience impacting issues taking ownership of the solution and drive it to completion.

+ Work cross-organizationally and cross-functionally with Technical Leads, Technical Program Managers, Product Managers to deliver impact.
