Are you an Invasive Cardiac or Interventional Technologist looking for a career in a progressive fast paced Cardiac Catheterization lab? Join us in the UPMC Shadyside Cardiac Catheterization Lab as we provide Life Changing Medicine to our community! This position will be working daylight hours with weekend and holiday call responsibilities.
You can be an integral part of our UPMC Shadyside's Heart Catheterization Department providing care for adult and geriatric cardiovascular populations in need of diagnosis and treatment. You will work closely with our Cardiologists assisting them in providing lifesaving treatments for our patients using the latest techniques and technology for coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, cardiomyopathy, valvular disease, congenital heart disease, and arrhythmias. Be a part of an experienced, competent team that works together to identify ways to offer compassionate care in an efficient, fast paced environment. Our Cath Lab team has positive working relationships with the physicians and ancillary departments within UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Responsibilities:
+ Ensure all imaging studies are accurately coded, archived, and linked in PACS/electronic records with proper charge entry.
+ Follow safety protocols: confirm patient identity with two identifiers, apply universal protocol, practice radiation safety, and maintain aseptic technique during procedures.
+ Prepare patients and equipment for diagnostic and interventional procedures, including proper positioning, monitoring, and contrast administration under physician direction.
+ Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, reduce anxiety, and ensure cooperation.
+ Collaborate with technologists, physicians, and staff across departments to support efficient, high-quality patient care.
+ Maintain clinical competencies, continuing education, and quality standards for imaging, point-of-care testing, and equipment operation.
+ Provide standby call coverage as scheduled.
+ Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS).Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist required.
+ New graduates have 1 year to obtain their board certification.
+ CPR certification is required.
+ ACLS certification is desired upon hire. Successful completion of ACLS certification required within orientation period.
+ ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology OR ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Echocardiograph and Ultrasound
