General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is a supplier of advanced electromagnetic systems, related power equipment and other high technology products for a variety of government and commercial applications. These include products such as the design and fabrication of linear motors, superconducting and conventional rotating motors, power inverters, high-energy capacitors, radiation monitoring systems, high-voltage direct current power distribution systems, and numerous other products.
Supplier Quality Professional works with an organization's supply chain and suppliers to continuously improve performance of key system components (increase lifecycle, reduce scrap, improve repair processes) by implementing process controls and developing quality assurance plans.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Supplier Quality Professional works with Suppliers to ensure that all contractual requirements are fulfilled and contract executed and delivered on-time.
+ Collaborate with GA’s Supply Chain Team, in the Supplier Lifecycle Management and assists with the following:
+ Supplier Selection - Develop the process for supplier selection and qualification, including the identification of sub-tier suppliers using tools such as SIPOC, decision analysis, and total risk factor analysis
+ Performance Monitoring Develop the supplier performance monitoring system, including expected levels of performance, process reviews, performance evaluations, improvement plans, and exit strategies.
+ Supplier Classification System Define and develop a supplier classification system (e.g., non-approved, conditionally approved, approved, preferred, certified, partnership, and disqualified).
+ Partnerships and Alliances Identify and analyze strategies for developing customer-supplier partnerships and alliances. May prepare statistical analysis reports, specifications and other technical documents.
+ Partnerships with Supplier with the resolution of challenges and roadblocks impacting the on-time delivery of products.
+ Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Participates in functional testing and/or inspection of equipment and systems.
+ Audit Supplier’s quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Investigate issues and develop innovative and practical solutions to technical and quality problems ensuring that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
+ Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
+ Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
+ Reviews and approves Objective Quality Documentation from Suppliers used to demonstrate product conformity.
+ Risk Mitigation, Develop and implement a risk mitigation plan for predicting, minimizing, monitoring, and/or controlling risks.

Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related discipline and five or more years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or three or more years with a master's degree. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
+ Five to ten years of experience in the Supplier Quality Field is desired.
+ Must be able to apply a detailed understanding of inspection methods and have strong knowledge of computer operations and applications.
+ Must have demonstrated experience with managing supplier and driving solutions for supplier performance issues
+ Must have the analytical ability required to develop creative solutions to complex quality issues and the skills required to present those solutions to internal and external contacts.
+ Must be detail-oriented to accurately prepare statistical reports and technical documents in support of company objectives.
+ Must have strong leadership skills to direct staff members and ensure project costs and schedules are maintained while representing the organization on technical quality assurance issues.
+ Able to deliver effective technical presentations and work extended hours as required.
+ Must have a defense industry background and the ability to interface with DCMA during GSI.
