Job Description
The Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Team at Iowa Workforce Development is accepting applications for full-time Transition Workforce Program Coordinator role in our IowaWORKSoffices
Domicile will be determined based on the hired candidate’s location at one of our IowaWorkscenters.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate statewide transition programming, transition contracted programs and other major initiatives for transition within IVRS to address the unique needs of students and youth with disabilities. Provide consultation to school districts on the development of programs specific to transition to meet the needs of the youth with disabilities as they consider post-secondary options.
Provide monitoring for transition contracted programs. Provide guidance and direction to other counselors in the offices as questions related to this population arise, advancing the initiatives to achieve an optimal level of employment. Participate on state teams and steering committees that monitor, evaluate, and revise transition programming.
Provide guidance to field staff regarding Local School Plans and collaboration with LEAs and AEAs and support to field services to better serve students with disabilities at the local level.
Assist with the development of curriculum for Pre-ETS Required Activities to allow field staff to focus on the delivery of those services to students with disabilities. Assist field staff in understanding the Pre-ETS activity areas and how to appropriately document those services
Work closely with IVRS staff and contracted staff to ensure that business needs are being addressed at the transition level. Ensure that students with disabilities are provided with work-based learning experience opportunities through participation in transition contracted programs
Provide consultation to staff in assigned locations regarding case work or issues/ problems that may arise in transition areas or transition contracted programs.
The successful candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check conducted by the Iowa Department of Public Safety.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university and experience equaling three years of full-time work involving employment interviewing, counseling, management, program planning, or occupational, budget, or labor market analysis;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of qualifying experience for each year of the required education to a maximum of four years;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting graduate level course work in business or public administration, economics, planning or closely related areas for experience on the basis of 30 semester hours for each year of required experience to a maximum of two years;
OR
current employees of the Iowa Workforce Development Department can qualify with two years of full-time work involving employment interviewing, counseling, management, program planning, or occupational, budget, or labor market analysis.
