    About the Role:

    Home Lending Transaction Specialist will ensure seamless execution of mortgage loan sales and purchases within the Home Lending Division and the Secondary Marketing Department.

     

    + Manage and coordinate external bulk mortgage sales and purchase settlements with internal partners and external stakeholders Works closely with the trade desk, servicing, collateral management, treasury, legal, and other team members to support a smooth transaction process.

    + Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date record of all mortgage transactions, including key milestones, timelines, and involved parties.

    + Develop and deliver regular reports on transaction progress, highlighting any delays, bottlenecks, and issues requiring attention.

    + Schedule and facilitate meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders to address transaction statuses, resolve challenges, and ensure alignment of deadlines.

    + Identify potential or existing delays in the transaction process, investigate root causes, and collaborate with relevant parties to implement timely solutions.

    + Recommend and implement strategies to streamline transaction workflows, improve efficiency, and reduce errors and delays.

    + Ensure that all transactions adhere to Columbia Bank standards, legal and regulatory requirements, and mortgage industry best practices.

    + Performs related duties as assignment by management.

    + Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

    + Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

    + Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

    + May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

    + Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words.

    + Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.

    + May perform other duties as assigned.

    About You:

    + H.S Diploma/GED Required.

    + Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, a related field, or equivalent work experience required.

    + 2-4 years of experience with Secondary Marketing, Pricing, and or Bank Treasury or Finance required.

    + Strong knowledge of Mortgage Products, programs, and the marketplace.

    + Ability to understand, identify, and measure financial risk associated with loan attributes and loan origination operational processes.

    + Strong knowledge and understanding of Mortgage Secondary Markets, Capital Markets, Securitization, and Bank Balance Sheet structure.

    + Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

    + Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the Bank.

    + Demonstrated accountability, dependability, initiative, and an ability to effectively prioritize tasks to ensure optimal results.

    + Proven ability to “think outside the box” when solving problems.

    + Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel.

    + Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.

    Our Benefits:

    We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $65,000.00 to $90,000.00 and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
