Responsibilities:
GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs professional accounting work at an operating level requiring knowledge and application of general accounting theory, techniques, and practices, and knowledge of the University accounting system. Work closely with the various levels of the University community to research, review, and reconcile various ledger accounts within UR Financials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Processes numerous invoices for payment through the Procure to Pay system.
+ Maintains records of each invoice, moves balances to correct accounts as needed with monthly journal entries.
+ Reviews monthly internal charges to operating accounts.
+ Creates Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and SIR payments in Workday.
+ Writes and reviews journal entries as needed.
+ Reviews the monthly general ledger operating accounts for errors and makes correcting entries when needed.
+ Ensures all submitted journal entries to Central Finance were posted to the ledger.
+ Reconciles monthly payroll for dining employees (Union, Students, etc.) between the general ledger and Dining contractor’s monthly Financial Statements.
+ Manages the Annual NACUFS survey completion with prior year figures received from Dining contractor Controller, items posted to the general ledger, items from the budget, meal plan participation from the ID Office Manager, and enrollment figures from the University webpage.
+ Performs Monthly reconciliation of all “0” or Holding Accounts.
+ Assists in the preparation of the annual operating budget.
+ Receives, records, and deposits checks from various vendors. Verifies ACH payments are posted timely.
+ Trains and performs backup duties for the Meal Plan Coordinator during absences and high-volume timeframes.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Required
+ 1 year of professional accounting experience. Required
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Required
+ Knowledge of Basic Accounting Principles. Required
+ Familiarity with audits, internal controls, and record-keeping requirements. Required
+ Familiar with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Required
