    COMPENSATION INFORMATION

    The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.

     

    Sr. Systems Administrator | Pay Range: $85,800 - $109,450.00

     

    Systems Administrator II | Pay Range: $76,000.00 - $96,900

     

    Systems Administrator I | Pay Range: $55,800.00 - $68,350.00

     

    Join Our Infrastructure Security Patching Team!

     

    We're looking for two driven **Systems Administrators** to power up our **Infrastructure Security Patching Team** . These positions may be filled at the **Level I, Level II, or Senior** level based on your skills and experience.

As part of our IT organization, you’ll play a critical role in protecting and optimizing the computing resources that support our employees, members, and millions of people who rely on reliable power every day.

     

    What You'll Do

     

    In this role, you’ll be at the heart of SPP’s mission, working on projects and operations that matter. You’ll:

     

    + Secure the grid by planning, testing, and implementing security patches and upgrades across a wide range of systems.

    + Design, build, and maintain core IT infrastructure, from servers and virtualization platforms to cloud environments and container orchestration.

    + Stay ahead of threats by monitoring vendor advisories, assessing vulnerabilities, and driving remediation to keep our environment safe.

    + Lead and innovate by mentoring teammates, managing projects, and finding new ways to automate and streamline patching and vulnerability management.

    + Partner across the business, translating complex technical issues into clear solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.

    To succeed as a Systems Administrator, you should bring:

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or combined equivalent experience

    Experience & Technical Requirements:

    Senior System Administrator:

    + Six (6) years of infrastructure support experience

    + Advanced expertise in Microsoft Windows, UNIX, or Linux, including virtualization technologies

    + Strong background in applications, hardware configurations, upgrades, and complex repairs

    + In-depth knowledge of networking/communication protocols and their impact on systems design/configuration

    + Demonstrated leadership, mentoring ability, and effective written/oral communication skills

    System Administrator II

    + Three (3) years of infrastructure support experience

    + Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, UNIX, or Linux operating systems, applications, hardware configurations, and hardware upgrades or repairs

    + Knowledge of networking/communication protocols as they relate to systems configuration

    + Effective written and oral communication skills

    System Administrator I

    + No experience required

    + Competent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, UNIX, or Linux operating systems, applications, hardware configurations, and hardware upgrades or repairs

    + Knowledge of networking/communication protocols as they relate to systems configuration

    + Competent written and oral communication skills

    Preferred:

    + Scripting and/or programming skills

    + Automation skills to replace manual tasks

    + Intermediate to Advanced certifications

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

     

    + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to make decisions, interpret data, and problem solve.

    + The employee frequently is required to stand or sit for extended periods; use hands to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment.

    + The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.

    + Requires the ability to work and collaborate with managers and employees at all levels to exchange ideas, information, and opinions to facilitate the task.

    + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

    + Understanding of compliance with and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedures

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time, onsite hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours may be required. Job requires managing staff working rotating shift schedules with long hours.

    Travel Requirement:

    This position requires minimal travel (approximately 10%).
