The Nozzle Quality Leader will lead a team of quality engineers with full ownership and accountability for ensuring the quality, delivery, process capability, cost, and compliance of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) 9X Nozzle hardware at the Asheville CMC facility. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement, fostering team accountability, and delivering exceptional results aligned with organizational goals.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Lead and organize the 9X Nozzle quality engineering team around clear goals focused on quality, process capability, cost, and compliance, while coaching the team to take ownership and accountability for these objectives.
+ Collaborate with teams on process and product improvement programs, providing expertise in process methods both within and outside the team.
+ Inspire and motivate teams to achieve key metrics, including asset utilization, process and manufacturing loss reduction, delivered quality, delivery performance, and cost optimization.
+ Partner with teams to enhance understanding of business and financial metrics, fostering individual and team growth.
+ Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement across all assigned products and processes.
+ Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to address quality and compliance issues effectively.
+ Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives to ensure successful new product introductions and ongoing quality control.
+ Support headcount planning and collaborate on careful selection processes to build a strong team.
+ Interface with external service providers and suppliers to meet quality and process capability requirements.
+ Provide technical, quality, and production leadership to assigned teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
+ Foster a customer-focused mindset, encouraging teams to deliver the highest levels of internal and external customer service.
+ Communicate key issues effectively to the team and senior leadership.
+ Strategically plan manpower, equipment, and resources to support organizational objectives.
+ Maintain positive employee relations by addressing concerns and resolving issues, involving HR when necessary.
+ Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices.
+ Collaborate with teams on production scheduling and hardware flow to meet customer requirements.
+ Assess employee training and development needs, adapting leadership style to enhance team performance and maturity.
+ Work closely with design, materials, and other supporting organizations to industrialize manufacturing processes.
+ Represent the team and be accountable during senior leadership reviews.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering)
+ Minimum of 5 years of Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering
