The Vogel lab at NYU Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Postdoctoral Associate.
Research in the Vogel lab investigate different aspects of the eukaryotic response to proteotoxic stress, with a current focus on translation regulation in the context of aging/neurodegenerative disease. Planned projects use a variety of molecular biology methods to characterize specific pathways.
The planned position will provide a transition to career independence through the development of professional skills; supervision by senior scientists in the lab, incorporating an individual development plan, and publication of research findings/scholarship during postdoc appointment period.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500 - $75,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD, have prior research experience using molecular biology techniques of mammalian cell systems, and/or experience with other relevant model systems (e.g. C. elegans), experience related to the lab’s research, and a track record of peer-reviewed publications. A strong application includes ideas on suitable directions given the applicant’s past experience as well as willingness to adapt to high-priority projects in the lab.
