Lead Test Equipment Support in Aerospace Manufacturing – Onsite Role
**PDS Tech Commercial** is seeking a highly experienced **Senior Test Engineer** to join a specialized team supporting production test systems in a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on troubleshooting, upgrading, and optimizing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) used for avionics hardware acceptance testing.
About the Role
You’ll work onsite alongside two local team members and collaborate with a remote engineering team based in **Phoenix – Deer Valley.** Your primary mission is to support and improve factory test equipment performance, partnering closely with ISC leadership and engineering stakeholders to resolve production challenges and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
+ Troubleshoot and analyze ATE systems, including racks with test instruments, cabling, ITAs, and power components
+ Identify root causes of test failures using Pareto analysis and recommend corrective actions
+ Support updates, upgrades, and continuous improvement of test systems
+ Collaborate daily with engineering counterparts and ISC leadership
+ Maintain a detailed and methodical RAIL (action plan) to track progress and findings
+ Communicate technical summaries and recommendations clearly across teams
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
+ 10+ years of experience in test equipment design and troubleshooting
+ Aerospace industry familiarity
+ Strong systems engineering background with hardware expertise
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Skills & Tools:
+ Experience with ATE development, rack stack design, adapters, and cable sets
+ Proficiency in Python, C, LabWindows CVI, and LabVIEW
+ Familiarity with test instruments and RF equipment
+ Knowledge of test certification processes (DO-160, DO-178, DO-254)
+ Experience with embedded operating systems
+ Ability to develop code based on schematics
+ Strong leadership and project management experience

**Pay Details:** $58.00 per hour
