At Pearson VUE we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join the Athena Browser software development team.
Athena Browser is a web-based exam delivery platform that delivers exam content to candidates taking certification exams. This software is our strategic test driver and is always undergoing significant modernization effort to meet client needs. There are constant opportunities to add value to this core Pearson VUE product.
The successful candidate will partner with the Product Manager to define product requirements, develop our product backlog, and ensure that work generated by our software development teams delivers value in line with the strategic goals of the business. This role is not technically focused, but it may be an advantage to have technical knowledge or experience.
The team is mostly from the Bloomington, MN office but everyone is currently working from home. This role involves collaborating with offshore engineering teams but you’d maintain a normal work schedule for your location.
Core responsibilities
+ Collaborate with end users, product stakeholders and customers to understand, anticipate and translate their needs into concise product requirements with clear goals.
+ Design and evaluate solutions that deliver incremental value to the business, our customers and end users.
+ Develop, prioritize and refine a product backlog of user stories with multiple Scrum development teams, and accept the work that is completed.
+ Drive positive outcomes at all stages of product development, by participating in Agile processes, setting clear expectations, and adapting to change.
+ Deliver demos, provide updates and elicit feedback from end users, product stakeholders and customers.

Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Information Systems, Computer Science discipline or equivalent technical work experience required
2. 4+ years of experience related to business analysis
3. Experience with Agile software development methodologies
Additional qualities desired
+ Have 4+ years of recent experience working in a Business Systems Analyst or Agile Product Owner role.
+ Be a self-motivated, resourceful and independent contributor, capable of quickly understanding complex processes / tools, business domains and technical concepts.
+ Enjoy problem solving, finding creative solutions and taking on challenges that require patience, attention to detail and the ability to make and justify hard decisions.
+ Represent our customers in a way that fosters trust, collaboration and compromise, by remaining open to others’ ideas, new ways of working and ‘going the extra mile’.
+ Have an ability to communicate complex technical concepts, manage expectations and build a shared understanding with different audiences.
+ Have experience with the following:
+ Agile software development methodologies.
+ Problem framing and/or Story mapping.
+ Wireframing and/or prototyping.
+ XML/HTML (also nice to have/willing to learn JSON and WCAG)

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary range is between $105,000 - $110,000 - This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.
