    Description

    SAIC's Air Force and Combatant Command Business Group is actively seeking a motivated and national security-oriented **Business Intern** to join our dynamic team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in key business and economic development activities, encompassing customer and community engagement, contract opportunity research, business case analysis, marketing, and event planning/execution. Our ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about contributing to national security initiatives. This role supports efforts with UMass Lowell, Hanscom Air Force Base (AFB), the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), MassCyberCenter, CyberTrust MA, local schools, and various non-profit organizations.

    Internship Details:

    + **Type** : Paid Internship

    + **Work Arrangement** : Hybrid remote with onsite work at Wannalancit Mills (660 Suffolk St, Lowell, MA 01854) and UMLARC (55 Old Bedford Rd, Lincoln, MA 01773).

    Key Responsibilities:

    + **UMass Lowell Cyber Center Support** :

    + Develop business models for Cyber Security Operations Center, Cyber Range, Workforce Development, and Core Research Facility.

    + Establish governance structures across internal and external schools.

    + Engage in customer outreach, marketing, and communications:

    + **Internal** : Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., College of Engineering, School of Business, Office of Research Development).

    + **External** : Promote awareness and engagement among new and existing DIB customers, municipalities, K-12 schools, junior colleges, and non-profits.

    + Assist in developing and supporting cybersecurity curriculum and career pathway initiatives.

    + Support the execution of events, including conferences, exercises, and simulations.

    + **Support for UMass Lowell Collegiate Competitions** :

    + Assist in sponsorship acquisition, marketing, and logistical support for the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) and Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) teams.

    + **Proposal Support** :

    + Aid UMass Lowell in preparing proposals for federal, state, and other agency funding opportunities.

    + **SAIC Hanscom AFB Support** :

    + Support corporate government relations, marketing, and communications efforts related to existing and emerging contracts at Hanscom AFB.

    + **SAIC Brand Ambassador** :

    + Train and act as a Brand Ambassador to integrate SAIC’s products and services into local offerings and develop local marketing campaigns that align with corporate messaging and themes.

    + **Performance Tracking** :

    + Assist in tracking customer engagement and marketing performance metrics, generating reports, and preparing meeting notes.

    + **Administrative Support** :

    + Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the team’s objectives.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    + Must be a U.S. citizen.

    + Currently enrolled in a degree program in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field at **UMass Lowell.**

    + Completed at least 2 years of college coursework.

    + Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.

    + Capable of managing multiple tasks and adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    + Excellent communication skills, coupled with a proactive approach.

    + Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
