    We are currently seeking **a Supply Chain Planning Engineer** in **Houston, Texas, Lafayette, Indiana** or **Virginia Beach, Virginia** . The Supply Chain Planning Engineer in the Marine Product Group will support various facets of the value chain and order to delivery process to help ensure our marine customers get the products they need in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

    What You Will Do:

    + Lead the design and optimization of value chain and order-to-delivery processes for new marine product offerings, ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

    + Support the development of Marine New Source Introduction (NSI) and Manufacturing Footprint strategy, aligning supply chain capabilities with long-term business growth.

    + Provide strategic Dealer S&OP support for both marine prime products and aftermarket, enhancing demand planning and inventory alignment.

    + Deliver Assurance of Supply solutions for marine territory sales managers and dealers, ensuring consistent availability of prime and aftermarket products.

    + Train and coach the marine commercial team on parts ordering and escalation protocols, serving as the primary escalation contact for the Marine Aftermarket Group.

    + Manage key account support activities, including order prioritization, pipeline visibility, and inventory management to drive customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

    Degree Requirement:

    + Establishes requirements for large changes in the overall mission, roles, responsibilities and processes necessary to make business improvements.

    + Participates in defining organizational strategic goals and purposes; defines how to gather and keep customers.

    + Works to overcome BPI resistance from managers, the labor force and other groups.

    **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

    + Differentiates assumptions, perspectives, and historical frameworks.

    + Evaluates past decisions for insights to improve decision-making process.

    + Assesses and validates decision options and points and predicts their potential impact.

    + Utilizes preferred tools, techniques and methods for estimating project cost and time.

    + Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes and monitors significant projects.

    + Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.

    + Conducts regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients.

    + Maintains open communication among project participants and interested parties.

    + Communicates reporting requirements; creates monitoring and control mechanisms.

    **Supply Chain Management - MFG:** Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.

    Level Extensive Experience:

    + Manages supply chain finance activities and measurements of effectiveness.

    + Advises others on capacity issues at various points in the supply chain.

    + Manages logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.

    + Implements and maintains monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.

    + Compares and contrasts alternative sourcing strategies (sole sourcing, reverse auctions, etc.).

    + Develops alternative sources of supply for the manufacturing organization.

    + Manages logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.

    Additional Information:

    + Relocation is not available for this position.

    + Travel will be expected up to 25% of the time.

    + This position is a fully onsite work model, requiring you are onsite in either Houston, TX, Lafayette, IN or Virginia Beach, VA COGMD offices.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $110,520.00 - $165,840.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
