    Cerner Soarian Financials Application Analyst

    Position Summary

    The Cerner Soarian Financials Application Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, build, testing, and support of Cerner Soarian Financials applications within the healthcare revenue cycle environment. This role ensures that financial workflows—including patient access, scheduling, billing, and accounts receivable—are optimized to support operational efficiency and compliance. The analyst collaborates with clinical, financial, and IT stakeholders to maintain system performance, implement enhancements, and provide day-to-day application support.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Serve as the primary analyst for Cerner Soarian Financials applications, including Patient Accounting and related revenue cycle modules.

    + Gather and document business requirements, translating them into system design, configuration, and workflow solutions.

    + Perform system configuration, build, and testing for new functionality, upgrades, and patches.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in partnership with users, technical teams, and Cerner support.

    + Support revenue cycle operations by optimizing workflows to improve billing, claims processing, denials management, and cash posting.

    + Collaborate with finance, patient access, and HIM teams to align system functionality with operational needs.

    + Maintain compliance with HIPAA, SOX, and other regulatory requirements.

    + Participate in system upgrades, testing, and validation cycles, ensuring minimal disruption to revenue cycle processes.

    + Provide end-user training, documentation, and support to ensure adoption of new functionality.

    + Participate in on-call support rotation for revenue cycle systems.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    + 5–7 years of healthcare IT experience.

    + 2-4 years of experience as a Cerner Soarian Financials analyst or builder in a hospital or health system.

    + Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations, including patient registration, billing, coding, and claims processing.

    + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    + Experience with system testing, issue resolution, and change management processes.

    Preferred:

    + Familiarity with related systems (e.g., Cerner Millennium Revenue Cycle, Epic Resolute, Meditech, or other financial applications).

    + Understanding of interfaces, data integration, and reporting tools related to revenue cycle.
