    The Forensic Services campus in St. Peter is comprised of the Forensic Mental Health Program and the Forensic Nursing Home. Forensic Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.

     

    In the role of a Recreation Therapy Program Supervisor, at the St. Peter Forensic Services, you will supervise Recreation Therapy (RT) services and Music Therapy (MT) services which includes the functions of planning, organizing, directing and collaborating. One will provide direction, supervision, and oversight to the Recreation Therapy and the Music Therapy staff. You will also work collaboratively with Treatment Team Supervisors and Clinical Directors to ensure effective delivery of RT and MT services.

     

    + Supervise RT Services staff and the Music Therapist so that applicable labor agreements and plans are equitably administered, and staff effectively perform assigned job duties.

    + Enrich and continually improve RT Services and MT Services consistent with professional standards of practice and code of ethics

    + Provide quality assurance processes and monitoring in order to safeguard and enhance quality of care.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + **A Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation** **, or a highly related field.**

    + Certification with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation

    + **Three (3) years' experience in a therapeutic, residential treatment, rehabilitative, or correctional setting**

    Experience must include:

    + **Supervisory experience including, conducting performance review/providing feedback to staff; training staff/ensuring staff have the proper training to do their job; providing reports/updates to management; identifying and resolving workplace problems.**

    + **Experience in overseeing the delivery of program services in a rehabilitative setting (plan, facilitate, supervise, and evaluate a wide range of therapeutic recreation programs for difficult and diverse behavioral needs).**

    + **Experience making high level decisions affecting both staff and clients.**

    + Organize and plan multi-faceted special events for clients.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + **Master’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation**

    + **Experience with providing therapeutic recreation services in a forensic setting or with individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness/ serious emotional disturbance**
