Job Overview
The ideal candidate brings a unique blend of Epic scheduling template experience and strong analytical skills, including the ability to run reports and derive actionable insights from data. They are a self-starter who can work independently in a solo role remotely, while also collaborating effectively across teams in person and attending leadership meetings at locations within our system. Epic templating certification is highly preferred, and candidates should be comfortable navigating both technical and operational environments.
The Scheduling Optimization Consultant-Primary Care will have ownership of provider schedule templating standardization, epic/web functionality for scheduling, and facilitation of the Templating Governance group discussion to align with Primary Care operations. Provides support to Fairview Primary Care Service line operations through mining, maintenance, analysis and presentation of clinical data for the purpose of improving operations. Participates in performance improvement activities as directed. Partners with leadership to identify, collect, present, interpret and scheme critical information focused on understanding and improving Ambulatory operations around templating and use of the primary care decision tree to schedule patients.
Responsibilities
+ Provides expert consultation to medical staff leaders, clinical department leaders, and others regarding aspects of data design, collection, analysis and presentation of templating initiatives along with service line, clinic and provider access data. Presents service line level awareness for accountabilities and ownership by operational teams.
+ Implements data collection methodology in collaboration with Electronic Medical Record Team, data analyst and informatics departments. Guides service line in the development and ongoing implementation of tools and reports.
+ Leads Template Governance committee to ensure template standards, maintenance of decision tree implications, and alignment of all scheduling modalities with provider templates.
+ Leads SACC group in coordination and horizontal view of service line initiatives including standard work for templates, on call schedules for physicians, time keeping for physicians, CME balance updates, and other duties as assigned.
+ Identifies the service lines analytics and reporting needs to meet initiatives and ongoing operations requirements as well as internal efforts to measure and improve patient outcomes by partnering with clinical leaders to provide understanding of data analysis. Partners with operations to provide standard workflow for updates to templates including IT requests, panel requests, seasonal service line initiatives around access.
+ Serves as a representative of service line, when necessary, for external and internal organizations, committees and/or work groups; as required.
+ Coordinates compilation of data for all requests related to performance improvement for assigned areas including external requests.
+ Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
Required Qualifications
+ B.S./B.A.
+ 2 years experience in project management, data gathering and analysis
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience working with Epic, clinic scheduling and templating
+ Extensive knowledge of managing and analyzing large data sets, knowledge and competency using advanced MS Excel features (e.g. pivot tables, vlookup, advanced charting, etc.), demonstrated knowledge of principles of visual display of quantitative information, knowledge of presentation formatting tools such as MS PowerPoint, experience with web-based relational database software applications

Compensation Disclaimer
The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
