Description:
Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist and general supervision of a licensed Pharmacy Technician, assists Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors and staff.
What the pharmacy technician I will need:
+ Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Preferred Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training program.
+ Minimum Possess a Michigan Pharmacy Technician Temporary License. Pharmacy Technician I agrees to enroll in the department identified technician training program and complete required training within that program and other department required activities. Pharmacy Technician I agrees to complete training and obtain certification, and apply for the Michigan Pharmacy Technician License within 12 months of hire.
+ Preferred Six months of pharmacy or healthcare related work experience.
What the pharmacy technician I will do:
+ Prepares, packages, and distributes medication orders per physician/pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols.
+ Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
+ Contributes to effective and quality operation of the department.
+ Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation; files documentation; answers telephone and pneumatic tube; and handles cash transactions.
+ Completes didactic pharmacy technician training modules.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.
