    **Work Schedule:** 8 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 4:00:00 AM)

    **Pay Range:** $83.98 - $141.09 per hour

    Summary:

    The System Director of Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy Services provides leadership for the coordination, integration, and advancement of clinical pharmacy services across the Rush University System for Health (RUSH). This leader is responsible for developing and maintain an effective, systemwide formulary management system, providing strategic alignment across pharmacy clinical services, and providing leadership to medication stewardship program. The role supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, and fiscally responsible care by ensuring advancing a standardized approach to clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and optimal medication use across RUSH. The System Director of Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy Services collaborates closely with leaders across RUSH to develop and execute a unified clinical pharmacy strategy aligned with Rush’s mission, vision, and values.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Directs, supervises, mentors, and provides feedback to team members

    • Directs the hiring, discipline, orientation, and training need of team members

    • Serves as co-chair of the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee

    • Directs and maintains an effective, systemwide management system, providing strategic alignment across pharmacy clinical services, and providing leadership to medication stewardship program. Provides strategic oversight and operational leadership to medication stewardship programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting safe, effective and fiscally responsible medication use.

    • Leads the alignment of clinical pharmacy services and medication-use standards across RUSH to ensure standardization, safety, and efficiency.

    • Collaborates with site directors, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to implement and maintain top performing practice models.

    • Ensures compliance with federal and state laws, accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission), and professional practice guidelines (e.g., USP, CDC, IDPH).

    • Develops and maintains systemwide clinical policies, protocols, and treatment pathways, ensuring consistency and alignment with national best practices.

    • Serves as a clinical liaison and strategic advisor to health system leadership regarding emerging therapies, regulatory changes, and opportunities for clinical expansion.

    • Supports clinical pharmacist role development, education, and credentialing to elevate scope of practice and enhance patient outcomes.

    • Promotes integration of pharmacy into multidisciplinary care teams, with a focus on continuity of care, transitions management, and chronic disease support.

    • Contributes to workforce development and mentorship by engaging with pharmacy residents, students, and clinical staff across all sites.

    • Develops, manages, and executes clinical initiatives that support strategic and operational system pharmacy goals. This includes planning for growth, implementing new technologies, leading changes, and optimizing resource allocation.

    • Creates an environment of empowerment, teamwork, and collaboration both in and outside the pharmacy.

    Required Job Qualifications:

    • Doctorate Degree of Pharmacy (PharmD) graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy or equivalent is required

    • State of Illinois Pharmacist licensure required within 12 months of hire.

    • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive pharmacy clinical experience, with five (5) years of previous supervisory experience preferred.

    Preferred Job Qualifications

    • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other relevant specialty preferred.

    • Successful completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 and PGY2 Health Systems Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience preferred.

    • Demonstrated experience in managing complex pharmacy operations, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.

    • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful pharmacy programs and initiatives.
