    $26 per hour

    Job Summary

    The Technical Services Intern is responsible for tasks and projects related to testing, gradation, and quality control of aggregate, asphalt, and ready-mix products.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Read, understand, and have a good working knowledge of the basic specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction / aggregate / concrete / asphalt industry

    + Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary

    + Ensure that accurate test results are reported daily

    + Review and analyze test results to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications as required

    + Ensure all quality control operations and activities are conducted in conformance with company policies, regulatory agencies and acceptable working practices are in compliance with standards

    + Recommend measures to improve quality control methods, equipment, performance, service, safety and quality of products

    + Other duties as assigned

     

    Education and/or Work Experience

     

    + Must be actively working towards a college degree.

     

    Skills

     

    + Ability to work independently and as a team

    + Basic math skills with the ability to calculate and analyze data

    + Excellent attention to detail

    + Excellent organizational skills

    + Excellent verbal and written communication

    + Must have the ability to work well with all levels of the organization

    + Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    + Strong tendency to take initiative

    Physical Requirements

    + Ability to utilize hands and fingers in order to type and carry reports should the need require

    + Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands throughout the workday should the need arise

    + Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch should the need arise

    + Ability to sit for a long period of time, possibly more than 90% of the workday

    + Ability to see clearly or with assistance via necessary correction
