Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Grant Accountant for a Contract-to-Permanent position in Dundalk, Maryland. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing grant-related financial activities while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position is perfect for someone with a solid understanding of accounting principles and expertise in grant administration.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Ensure grant-related activities adhere to federal, state, and program-specific compliance and reporting requirements.

+ Review and validate financial documents for accuracy and alignment with institutional policies and regulatory standards.

+ Monitor grant expenditures and cost allocations to ensure compliance with allowability, allocability, and reasonableness criteria.

+ Prepare budget forecasts and perform trend analyses to support financial planning efforts.

+ Generate and interpret financial reports for internal use, external auditors, and government agencies.

+ Act as a subject matter expert on regulatory frameworks, including Uniform Guidance, applying guidelines to post-award grant management.

+ Administer time and effort certifications for faculty and staff associated with sponsored projects, ensuring adherence to regulations.

+ Develop and maintain policies and procedures to uphold grant financial compliance aligned with organizational and governmental frameworks.

+ Analyze financial records to identify discrepancies and prepare adjustments or correcting entries when necessary.

+ Support grant audits by compiling worksheets, schedules, and documentation for external auditors and grant agencies.

Requirements • Proven experience in grant management and fund administration.

• Strong knowledge of government and foundation grants, including compliance requirements.

• Proficiency in financial systems such as Banner and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Familiarity with budget allocations, monitoring, and financial reporting methodologies.

• Expertise in Uniform Guidance and other regulatory guidelines governing grant accounting.

• Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and recommend improvements.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with external auditors and granting agencies.
