    Job Description

    As a Machine Operator, you will oversee the operation of machinery to ensure the production of high-quality products while meeting deadlines safely. Your role involves training and directing Assistant Machine Operators, assisting in creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and managing production-related documentation. You will also perform inventory data entry and receive cross-training in other job functions as needed. Regular attendance at departmental, production, safety, and company meetings is required.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate machinery efficiently to produce quality products.

    + Provide training and general direction to Assistant Machine Operators.

    + Assist in creating SOPs and other production-related documentation.

    + Perform inventory data entry tasks.

    + Cross-train in other job functions as needed.

    + Attend departmental, production, safety, and company meetings.

    + Operate sit-down forklifts and reroller machines in the Conversion department.

    Essential Skills

    + 1+ years of experience in machine operation and manufacturing.

    + Proficiency in operating sit-down forklifts.

    + Ability to operate machinery efficiently and safely.

    + Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

    + Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with overhead cranes, lockout/tagout procedures, machine setup, and troubleshooting is a plus.

    + High School Diploma or GED required.

    + Preference for candidates with experience in the paper industry.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is that of a rubber manufacturing facility, which is not climate-controlled. While it can get warm in the summer and cool in the winter, it remains organized and maintains a strong company culture. Expect to get a bit dirty due to the nature of the rubber manufacturing process. The facility operates across multiple shifts: First Shift from 6:45 AM to 3:00 PM, Second Shift from 2:45 PM to 11:00 PM, and Third Shift from 10:45 PM to 7:00 AM, with occasional weekend work required.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
