    Job Title: Chemical Engineer

     

    

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team involved in advancing chemical processes and improving operational reliability at a major manufacturing site. Your role will focus on mid to long-term action plans, addressing a backlog of documentation updates, and supporting process improvement initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with site technical and operational team members to resolve outstanding PHA MOC optimization and other action items for 1-4 chemical processes.

    + Complete technical definition, validation, and reporting for environmental data required for permitting and annual reporting requirements.

    + Review and enhance plant documentation to improve readability, detail, and clarity of startup, shutdown, and normal operations procedures.

    + Execute technical definition documentation and pressure safety design packages.

    + Work with plant engineering resources to scope, document, and define implementation plans for process and reliability improvement projects.

    + Support enhancements to plant training programs.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other engineering discipline.

    + 5 years of experience in process measurement and applications within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.

    + Comprehensive knowledge of chemical processes and the ability to analyze, recommend, and resolve complex problems.

    + Understanding of OSHA PSM/EPA RMP requirements and associated risk management techniques.

    + Ability to lead small groups and work independently.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical areas.

    + Intermediate computer skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in lean manufacturing and process improvement.

    + Mechanical and chemical manufacturing knowledge.

    + Strong collaboration and communication skills.

    + Curiosity and openness to learning new things.

    Work Environment

    This role is based onsite in Kansas City, operating on a standard 40-hour work week, starting at 7:30 am. The dress code is casual, and basic PPE such as hard hats, steel toe shoes, and glasses are provided. The team is a mix of long-standing and new members, working collaboratively on diverse projects. The work environment encourages humility, good communication, and open-mindedness. Limited formal training is provided, primarily on-the-job. Interviews will be conducted in two rounds: a phone screen and a panel interview.

    This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, Missouri.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
