JOB SUMMARY
The PACS Coordinator is responsible for the handling and maintaining of data into the PACS system, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. The responsibility is of an enterprise nature, crossing data among various departments such as but not inclusive of: surgical images, radiographic images, cardiology images, and various types of documents.
This position works closely with other IT resources to ensure interfaces and connectivity is built and maintained to ensure transition of data between devices, EHRs, and PACS. This position is responsible for working with PACS vendors and PACS vendor’s IT departments to analyze issues and works as a team to resolve those issues.
This position obtains quotes for various projects and assists with negotiations of such contracts involving the data flow with PACS and may work as a project manager. The PACS Coordinator assists with various levels of testing, implementation, and installation of various applications that touch the PACS system.
The position requires daily interaction of monitoring incoming data and provides technical assistance to increase workflow efficiency and resolve related problems. The position works closely with technologists, physicians, leaders, technical support teams, and vendors. They develop and/or revise policies, procedures, or processes for downtime occurrences.
The PACS coordinator provides staff education that ensures the effective and efficient operation of data while promoting customer and employee satisfaction.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
+ 2 years of IT and/or PACS experience
PREFERRED:
+ Associates or Bachelor degree in Computer Science
License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
+ None
