Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to Practice Part-Time Evenings in Malta, New York
Compensation: 56.36/Hr. - $71.19/Hr. (Tiered by Years of Experience)
Join our Occupational Medicine team!
Evenings with some day coverage, 24 Hours Per week, 48 hours biweekly.
Work 3 - 11:30 at our client medical facility, Malta.
Expect variety with some day coverage at our Occupational Medicine clinic. Our clinic h ours vary within our practice, which is open 8 – 5 in Malta. Work with another experienced PA. No weekends, holidays or on-call.
Duties will include: evaluation, treatment, and management of our clients employees. Provide direct patient care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
Provider will perform physical examinations for medical and respirator surveillance programs, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, DOT certification, substance abuse screenings, and other programs required by the employer. Develop/order therapeutic plan-of-care including prescription medications, PT, chiropractic, referrals/consultations. Perform effective case management follow-up from injuries/illness and absences. Provide emergency medical response.
Our Occupational Medicine team has developed a solid reputation for clinical excellence and compassionate care, and provides care to diverse clientele including those in the semiconductor, transportation, and healthcare industries. Our services range from routine pre-placement and respirator clearance exams to OSHA surveillance for asbestos, arsenic, cadmium, lead, and other exposures, hearing conservation programs, DOT and 19A exams, injury evaluation and management, and more.
+ NYS Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License is required. We offer a competitive compensation and benefit package.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant serves as an additional patient care provider, augmenting and extending patient services provided by the health care team. The NP/PA will work closely with members of the team and have a reasonable amount of autonomy in the care and medical decision-making for patients. A few highlights of responsibilities:
• Obtains, documents and updates medical history. Identifies health risks and needs. Performs physical examinations and conducts preventive screening procedures based on age and history. Formulates a differential diagnosis and plan of care based on history, physical examination, and clinical findings. Identifies needs of the individual, family, or community. • Orders and review diagnostic tests. Identifies, prescribes, and manage pharmacological therapies. • Determines effectiveness of the plan of care through documentation of patient care outcomes. • Reassesses and modifies plan of care as necessary to achieve medical and health goals. • Makes referrals to other health professionals and community agencies. Admits/discharges to appropriate service. • Participates in team meetings and conferences to enhance an interdisciplinary approach to health care delivery. • Serves on departmental and multidisciplinary committees, which influence or determine policies affecting advanced practice providers. • Participates in and develops projects and quality improvement programs, as well as standards of care and practice. • Maintains current level of knowledge relative to professional practice. • Maintains all required professional documentation, such as license, certifications, infection control, ACLS/BLS, DEA as well as system requirements. • Acts as resource to staff and implements educational programs, as needed.
