Job Title: Repair Technician
Job Description
As a Repair Technician, you will troubleshoot and process equipment returned by customers for repair or exchange. You will work under general supervision for routine tasks and receive detailed instructions for new assignments. Your role involves diagnosing equipment failures to the component level, preparing repair estimates, performing rework modifications, and ensuring the equipment functions as per specifications. Additionally, you will document corrective actions, inspect finished products, and report any service or reliability issues.
Responsibilities
+ Troubleshoot equipment to determine failure and compare findings with customer complaints.
+ Prepare repair estimates and obtain customer approvals.
+ Perform rework modifications and updates to restore equipment to working order.
+ Conduct testing to ensure equipment functions according to specifications.
+ Inspect finished products to verify conformance to industry standards.
+ Document failure codes and repair information in company systems.
+ Identify and report problems with products and procedures.
+ Address service and reliability issues.
+ Initiate Engineering Action Requests (EAR) when necessary.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in soldering, especially with surface mount components.
+ Experience with testing programs using AGILE and MES.
+ Ability to troubleshoot to the component level is a must.
+ Proficient in schematic reading.
+ Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documentation.
+ Skilled in using common hand tools and operating test equipment.
+ Ability to exercise good judgment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Soldering and testing experience.
+ Computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Associates degree in Electronics Technology, Technical School Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience with basic electronics theory is preferred.

Work Environment
The work environment is generally quiet to moderate, with occasional loud noise. The role involves frequent contact outside the department or company. You may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, in high places, and be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, outdoor weather, and the risk of electric shock.

This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
