    Job Title: Estimating Engineer

     

    We are seeking a skilled Estimating Engineer responsible for accumulating costs associated with requests for quotes (RFQs) and determining the best manufacturing processes for building parts and assemblies. This role involves sourcing raw material costs, calculating outside labor costs, developing routings and bills of materials, and ensuring timely issuance of quotations. The Estimating Engineer will also provide weekly updates on project metrics and delays, and update necessary databases with customer and order information.

    Responsibilities

    + Accumulate costs for RFQs and develop them into routers for quoting to customers or prospects.

    + Analyze and develop requests for quotes (RFQs) to determine the best manufacturing processes.

    + Request and source raw material and outside labor costs from internal departments and vendors.

    + Help develop efficient routings and bills of materials for product manufacturing.

    + Issue quotations in a timely manner and provide weekly updates on project metrics and delays.

    + Build production processes that assure customer requirements and specifications are met.

    + Update databases with relevant customer and order information.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum 2-year Associate's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

    + 5+ years of experience in estimating within the manufacturing sector.

    + Experience in the aerospace industry, specifically with AS9100 standards.

    + Project management experience.

    + Proficiency in CAD software, including SolidWorks and Autodesk.

    + Strong blueprint reading skills with a solid understanding of GD&T.

    + Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic team setting.

    Work Environment

    This role is based in a standard office environment attached to manufacturing facilities located in the Akron area. The company offers flexible working hours with the option of working four 10-hour shifts with Fridays off, or four 9-hour shifts with a half-day on Fridays. Standard hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 5 pm, and Fridays from 7 am to 11 am.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $58.00/hr.
