Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator to join our team. This position involves operating various wire braiding machines and machines that place jackets on wires. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in extrusion processes and will be responsible for moving wire rails to the correct machines and setting the appropriate wires according to customer specifications. Basic math skills are essential for making necessary adjustments to customer orders, particularly regarding length and order size.
Responsibilities
+ Operate wire braiding machines and machines that place jackets on wires.
+ Move wire rails to appropriate machines.
+ Set wires according to customer specifications.
+ Perform the process of jacketing wires using extrusion machines, ensuring proper cooling and wrapping.
+ Execute plastic wrapping to prevent wire unraveling.
+ Bundle multiple types of finished wire, aligning them properly and feeding them through machine ports.
+ Load raw materials and unload finished products after production runs.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with extrusion machines and machine operation.
+ Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Mechanical aptitude and general production skills.
+ Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Being mechanically inclined.
+ Experience with loading, unloading, and feeding machines.
+ Self-motivation and initiative due to lean operations.

Work Environment
Our facility is organized and clean, with a workforce of about 18-25 people, including 15-20 on the shop floor. While employees tend to focus on their individual tasks, the environment is conducive to productivity and efficiency.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bristol, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
