    Job Title: Repository TechnicianJob Description

     

    This role involves the receipt, inventory, storage, and shipping of clinical agents or biological specimens to various clinical sites and laboratories. Materials are stored at temperatures ranging from ambient to -196°C, and may possess potentially hazardous properties. The position requires the use of database applications, adherence to standard precautionary procedures, and the ability to work independently with good judgment. Interaction with clients, both internal and external, is conducted under the guidance of experienced professionals or technical staff. Occasionally, travel to Rockville or Germantown MD sites, up to 25%, may be required.

    Responsibilities

    + Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.

    + Sustain a high level of quality to ensure customers receive accurate products in the time requested.

    + Assist in receiving biological specimens, chemical compounds, clinical agents, and/or investigational products.

    + Verify the quality, type, and quantity of materials received and ensure appropriate documentation, such as packing lists, is present.

    + Weigh dry chemical compounds and aliquot liquid biological samples or products.

    + Perform general documentation management, including generating, reviewing, archiving, or destroying documents.

    + Work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures ranging from ambient to -196°C.

    + Ensure compliance with cGMP parts 210 and 211 and company quality systems.

    + Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), facility safety guidelines, and FDA requirements, which may include compliance with cGMP CFR parts 210 and 211 where applicable.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with repository operations, cold chain management, and handling of biological specimens.

    + Familiarity with -80 freezers, dry ice, inventory, and shipping processes.

    + Basic digital literacy to navigate inventory systems, Microsoft Office, and shipping software.

    + Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

    + Good social and customer service skills.

    + Ability to recognize deviations from accepted practice.

    + Strong attendance performance and timely work start.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent is required.

    + Certified Pharmacy Technician certification is preferred.

    + Preferable experience in data entry, shipping/receiving, and sample management.

    + Knowledge of Universal Precautions, general laboratory practices, and quality assurance/control is preferred.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes cold conditions ranging from ambient to -196°C, with exposure to dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous and infectious agents, and marked changes in temperature. The role involves highly repetitive tasks and requires walking, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 50lbs continuously. Occasionally, the position may require sitting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Due to business needs, flexibility in working varying schedules, hours, and overtime is necessary. Travel to division sites between Rockville and other locations will be required, with advance notice provided.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
