Job Description
The Production Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of laboratory production and development equipment and systems. This position involves performing routine and preventative maintenance, as well as handling repairs, calibrations, testing, and modifications to maintain equipment within specifications. The technician will troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures, apply corrective actions, and manage equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime. Additionally, the role includes tasks such as performing rebuilds, installations, qualifications, and upgrades, operating various test instruments, and developing testing procedures and strategies.
Responsibilities
+ Perform routine and preventative maintenance on laboratory production and development equipment.
+ Conduct simple to complex repairs, calibrations, testing, and modifications on equipment and systems.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose causes of equipment failures and apply corrective actions.
+ Resolve equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
+ Perform rebuilds, installations, qualifications, and upgrades.
+ Operate various test instruments and special test fixtures.
+ Develop testing procedures and strategies.
+ Ensure quality and consistency in production processes by assessing, modifying, repairing, and/or calibrating equipment.
+ Evaluate and modify production processes and/or equipment to ensure efficiency and productivity.
+ Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with equipment, devices, or products using precision instruments.
+ Support laboratory personnel with maintaining inventory levels of lab supplies.
+ Assist engineers with tasks related to development, construction, and evaluation of prototypes, new products, operations, and/or procedures.
+ Respond promptly to requests from lab personnel for assistance with equipment or supplies.
+ Draft and maintain production logs, inventories, documentation, and reports.
+ Assist in compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in maintenance and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to use precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
+ Experience in performing repairs, calibrations, and modifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in supporting inventory management in a laboratory setting.
+ Capability to draft and maintain detailed production documentation and reports.
+ Knowledge of health and safety laws and best practices.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
