    Job Title: Welder

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team where you will position, layout, fit-up, cut, and weld in accordance with shop drawings. You will be primarily working with Flux Core welding on structural steel and will engage in a variety of tasks including welding off blueprints, shop math, and measuring. This role requires you to utilize multiple hand and power tools, and engage in significant problem-solving and troubleshooting for custom projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform Flux Core welding on structural steel.

    + Interpret and work from shop drawings and blueprints.

    + Use shop math and measurements for precise welding tasks.

    + Operate various hand and power tools effectively.

    + Engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting for custom welding tasks.

    + Utilize Lincoln welders for various welding assignments.

    Essential Skills

    + 1 year of experience in Flux Core welding.

    + Proficiency in MIG welding with at least 5 years of experience.

    + Ability to read and work from blueprints.

    + Experience in fabrication and fitting for structural welding.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Strong problem-solving skills for custom welding projects.

    + Experience in a heavy industrial facility is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment includes a large, heavy industrial facility. While it is cleaner than typical for heavy structural welding, it remains somewhat dirty. The position is on the 2nd shift, running from 3 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday through Thursday, with opportunities to volunteer for additional hours on weekends after training. The union position provides a $1.50 premium for the 2nd shift.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of STOUGHTON, Wisconsin.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
