Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Test Technician to join our Test & Development group. This role focuses on performing quality assurance for prototype vehicles and components, particularly scissor lifts and similar construction equipment. It is a dynamic position with a variety of tasks, emphasizing hands-on testing of hydraulics and electronics.
Responsibilities
+ Install various types of instrumentation, including pressure ports, temperatures, displacements, and speed, as well as data acquisition systems like Somat eDAQ.
+ Operate test machines such as JLG or Jerr Dann Equipment in compliance with Internal Standard Test Procedures and External Standards.
+ Communicate and document any machine issues encountered during the build process.
+ Support process improvement activities within Test and Development.
+ Perform tests on systems and components, focusing on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
+ Troubleshoot systems, conduct basic failure analysis, and adhere to detailed test procedures.
+ Fabricate test fixtures and establish appropriate instrumentation, test sequences, and procedures.
+ Work routinely with a data acquisition system, specifically the EDAQ system.
Essential Skills
+ Proven mechanical aptitude and interest in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
+ Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
+ Competency in using MS Office and writing documentation.
+ Possession of a GED or High School Diploma.
+ Comfortable working at heights.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience troubleshooting complete systems, including hydraulic pumps and cooling systems.
+ Familiarity with data acquisition systems or similar testing methodologies.
+ Experience with moving equipment such as farm equipment, forklifts, or heavy machinery.
+ An AS Degree or trade school education in electrical technology or mechanical systems.
+ Experience in test set-up and electronic testing and troubleshooting.
+ Possession of a CDL Class A license, although driving off-site is not required.
Work Environment
The schedule is typically Monday to Friday during the day, with some flexibility. Additional work is required over weekends on a 15-week rotation, approximately 3-4 weekends per year, requiring about 30 minutes on-site each day. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor tasks, with testing continuing in cold or rainy conditions, necessitating appropriate attire. However, no work will be done outdoors in extremely cold or windy conditions.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
