Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a Machine Operator to join our team in either the roasting or grinding department. In the roasting department, you will operate a large machine to achieve the desired roast level for coffee beans, using a color chart to determine when they are perfectly roasted. In the grinding department, you will operate machinery to grind coffee beans to specific orders, ensuring the right consistency, whether coarse or fine. You will work with a digital touch screen panel to control various production settings and use a desktop computer for data entry and monitoring.

Responsibilities

+ Operate roasting and grinding machinery to process coffee beans.

+ Use a color chart to determine the correct roast level.

+ Operate a digital touch screen panel to control vacuums, temperature, and speed.

+ Perform setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting using hand or power tools.

+ Enter information and monitor production data on a desktop computer.

Essential Skills

+ 1 year of high-speed machine operating experience in a production environment.

+ 1 year of setup and troubleshooting experience.

+ Proficiency in maintenance repair, tool change, and quality checks.

+ Strong computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Mechanical aptitude and experience with changeovers and machine setup.

+ Experience in automotive mechanics, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brakes.

+ Experience in construction with manufacturing experience.

+ Previous experience in a food environment and with robotic machinery.

Work Environment

The facility provides a comfortable work environment, though it may get warmer in the summer due to the roaster machines. Communication is seamless with a diverse team of English and Spanish speakers. As a food and beverage manufacturer, adherence to food safety guidelines is required, including wearing hairnets, earplugs, bump caps, and steel-toed boots. The schedule follows a 2-2-3 pattern with options for day shifts from 6am to 6pm, or night shifts from 6pm to 6am.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47236.80 - $54516.80/yr.

This is a DIRECT HIRE position meaning you will be offered a full benefits package, along with 3 weeks of vacation. There is great advancement opportunity with the company, up to a level 6 operator making upwards of $28+/hour.
