Job Title: Lead Carpenter
Responsibilities
+ Install new kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and ventilation systems.
+ Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure all equipment functions properly.
+ Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment, addressing issues like leaks, faulty wiring, and worn-out parts.
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all installations and repairs.
+ Maintain detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
+ Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide guidance on equipment use and maintenance.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in construction, carpentry, and framing.
+ Experience with hand tools, blueprints, and installations in commercial construction.
+ Ability to perform rough carpentry, general labor, and finish work in new construction settings.
+ Mechanical skills and experience with equipment installation.
+ Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment issues.
+ Customer service skills and the ability to interface with clients effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED is required.
+ Post-secondary education in fields like HVAC, electrical engineering, or culinary arts is preferred.
+ Completion of vocational or technical training focused on appliance installation.
+ Practical experience through an apprenticeship under experienced technicians.
+ Relevant certifications, such as those from the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA) or North American Technician Excellence (NATE).
+ Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces.

Work Environment
Work primarily in commercial kitchens across a variety of environments, including new constructions and renovations, in a territory spanning from NYC to DC. Typical workweek is Monday to Friday, starting at 7 am, with some weekend work and potential overtime. The role involves working with a variety of hand and power tools, cabinetry, and trim work.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.
