Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
Join a dynamic team where you will be working in Sub Assembly or General Assembly, focusing on assembling large window units. Your role will involve using hand and power tools to add metal brackets, fasteners, clips, and other hardware. You will also be responsible for testing caulking products and ensuring the quality of the assembly process.
Responsibilities
+ Add metal brackets, fasteners, and clips onto window units using hand and power tools.
+ Use caulking guns to fill spaces and ensure proper sealing of windows.
+ Paint ends of materials and work with non-fiberglass insulation.
+ Wrap final units with netting and inspect for flaws throughout the assembly process.
+ Work with large pieces of glass and sheet metal, requiring precision and attention to detail.
+ Stand and walk for an 8-hour shift while assembling window units approximately 30 feet long.
+ Retrieve materials and conduct unit testing in the yard or testing booth.
+ Meet production goals for the day and overall production targets.
+ Cross-train in various areas and adapt to learning different parts of the process.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 3 years in a mechanical role.
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints and using a tape measure.
+ Experience with mechanical assembly, fitting, and fabrication.
+ Experience with hand tools and power tools, including drills.
+ 1-2 years of construction experience in the mechanical field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Computer skills are a plus.
+ Experience in construction or home improvement is ideal.
+ Flexibility in task assignments and a positive attitude.
+ Ability to take feedback well, supported by references.

Work Environment
Work in a busy, non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility filled with large machines and a team-centric atmosphere. The shift runs from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with mandatory overtime as needed to meet production demands. Tasks may require exposure to the outside environment. The role involves working with large pieces of glass, sheet metal, and steel frames in a fast-paced setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, va.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
