Job Title: RF Engineer
Job Description
The Sr RF Engineer is an individual contributor role with expertise in electrical engineering disciplines such as RF, digital, and analog design. This position involves applied research, development, and the design of cutting-edge transmission and receive systems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a systems environment, collaborating with mechanical and software teams, developing PCB and system requirements, and supporting system test teams.
Responsibilities
+ Design critical capabilities for future product enhancements and cost reduction in transmit and receive solutions.
+ Maintain a high level of technical competence in ultra-high power RF communication systems.
+ Assess feasibility of new business opportunities.
+ Communicate customer technical expectations to the project team.
+ Conduct detailed technical analysis and design at subsystem or system level using tools such as Matlab/Simulink, RF Pathwave, Ansys HFSS, and Spice.
+ Provide technical expertise and leadership, collaborating with the Program Manager and Project Engineering Lead, and mentoring the development team.
+ Ensure compliance with customer, contract, and regulatory technical requirements.
+ Evaluate supplier solutions and testing for compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
+ Anticipate and manage technical risks, developing mitigation plans.
+ Support site installations and troubleshooting as a system expert, assisting the Field Service Representative team.
+ Promote cross-team collaboration and continuous improvement in product designs and engineering practices.
Essential Skills
+ BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
+ Proficiency in translating system-level requirements into implementation.
+ Extensive knowledge of RF fundamentals such as impedance matching, distributed systems, and resonant circuits.
+ Experience with mixed signal design including SoC/FPGAs, A/D Converters, and Digital Waveform Generators.
+ Competency in creating schematics and wire lists.
+ Excellent problem-solving and lab debugging skills.
+ Hands-on experience in RF tuning and using RF instruments.
+ Experience with VLF/LF through X-Band transmitter and receiver design.
+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment with multiple concurrent projects.
+ US citizenship with the capability to be approved for clearance within one year.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with high power GHz boards, power amplifier boards, and power combining boards.
+ Knowledge of antenna matching and subassembly improvements for cost reduction.
+ Proficiency in operating systems, conducting acceptance tests, and troubleshooting customer needs.
+ Experience with field simulation tools like FEKO and board layout in Altium type programs.
+ Ability to envision technologies across various frequencies.
+ Cellular experience with power amplifier design is beneficial.
Work Environment
The work environment involves reporting to a dynamic engineering team. Projects range from initial concept to defining new requirements. Some travel may be required initially, with the possibility of reduced travel over time as familiarity with technologies increases. The work setting is collaborative, with opportunities to work closely with a team dedicated to innovative engineering solutions.

This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, Texas
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
