    Test Technician

    Job Description

    The Test Technician will play a crucial role in supporting technicians and engineers by testing vehicles and parts/components, performing configuration changes, and making necessary repairs to vehicles and test stands. This role involves adhering to engineering procedures, standards, and specifications. The Technician will also assist in the fabrication and assembly of vehicles and related systems/sub-systems. The primary goal is to validate new product designs as part of new product development and address issues with sustaining products. Providing exemplary technical support to customers is expected.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct testing of prototypes and current products to assess capabilities and ensure conformance to specifications and regulations in collaboration with engineers and high level technicians.

    + Test and record data using operational knowledge of vehicle systems, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, utilizing manual entry and data acquisition methods.

    + Troubleshoot systems, perform basic failure analysis, and follow detailed test procedures.

    + Assemble, disassemble, and fabricate complex/customized parts, mechanical structures, and test stands/fixtures in collaboration with engineers and technicians.

    + Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all safety procedures, considering regular exposure to personal and physical hazards.

    + Operate heavy equipment/machinery or drive vehicles as needed for testing or material handling.

    + Determine appropriate test instruments for product testing.

    + Plan and schedule daily activities to complete assignments efficiently and ensure projects are completed within identified timelines.

    + Communicate effectively and work cross-functionally to resolve technical problems, providing constructive feedback to all levels of the organization.

    + Interpret and execute written and verbal directions and instructions.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong troubleshooting skills.

    + Experience in the automotive industry.

    + Proficiency in engineering practices.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Technical Diploma with three years of experience in engineering or equivalent.

    + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

    + Knowledge of automotive and mechanical terms.

    + Willingness to travel up to 10%.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes regular exposure to personal and physical hazards, requiring strict adherence to safety procedures. The role may involve operating heavy equipment or machinery and driving vehicles for testing or material handling purposes. The position requires effective time management to ensure projects are completed within set timelines.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
