    SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

    The CNC Team Lead will perform specific tasks to deliver on S, Q, D, C expectations. The CNC Team Lead will provide the leadership and technical skills to ensure the safe and effective operation in the CNC department.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Performs all assigned CNC department operations.

    + Will establish best practices & training for employees with regard to machining practices.

    + Support of 5S: Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.

    + Is responsible for machine run off & startup in support of Engineering, regarding transfers & new investments.

    + Proactive in CNC trouble shooting and support.

    + Modifies CNC program as needed.

    + Interacts with QC dept to resolve quality issues.

    + Develop a team spirit as you oversee and direct the activities of experienced CNC operators.

    + Assist employees with their processes and troubleshoot as required.

    + Provide leadership and technical skills to ensure the safe and effective operation of the Dept. under supervision.

    + Advocate for the organization and maintain compliance by supporting established policies, procedures, and standards.

    + Take a proactive approach to ensure continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Tooling and Productivity.

    + Identify and implement necessary personnel coaching and development to upgrade and maintain personnel skill levels.

    + Encourage all employees to perform in a team environment and profession manner.

    + Accomplish results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and motivating employees.

    + Provide training and performance management of employees.

    + Drive accountability for quality and productivity.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     + Able to read and understand & program CNC code.

    + At least 15 years CNC Setup & Programming experience.

    + Ability to train & mentor employees.

    + Formal G Code, M Code, Sub program, manual editing training.

    + Run & Operate CNC, Manual equipment.

    + Ability to program Macro Type processes

    + Ability to improve processes with focus on capability across any machining aspect.

    + Must be able to communicate with management and peers effectively.

    + Time Management skills are necessary.

    + Able to follow instructions.

    + Able to maintain accurate inventory of tooling/ consumables.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This job has direct supervisory responsibilities.

    While performing the duties of the job the employee works in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration

     

    The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Required:

    + High School Diploma or GED

    Preferred:

    + 2 Years of CNC experience in a manufacturing environment.

    OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.

    WORK AUTHORIZATION

    This position requires compliance with ITAR requirement. Must be a “U.S. Person” (per ITAR 120.15) and are required to show proof substantiating this upon being hired.
