    The **Field Service Technician** holds full responsibility for the success of after-sales and warranty service across Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. As the main technical contact, the individual manages installations, troubleshooting, servicing, calibrations, and customer training for servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems. This remote position is key to ensuring customer satisfaction and optimal equipment performance.

     

    + Perform routine preventative maintenance and timely corrective repairs on equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and reduce customer downtime

    + Troubleshooting and full diagnostics of mechanical & electrical system failures through the use of schematics, technical diagrams, and manuals

    + Provide formal service quotes to customers as required

    + Conduct full system testing and calibration after repairs or preventative maintenance activities

    + Provide remote technical support via telephone and ticketing system when applicable

    + Maintain accurate inventory of assigned spare parts and special tools

    + Manage individual service cases regularly to meet departmental metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)

    + Complete all required documentation to support the closure of service orders

    + Assist customers with equipment installations and provide on-site training as needed

    + Report feedback to the Service Manager/Engineering teams regarding product serviceability and ways to improve it

    + Offer occasional input and constructive feedback on new releases or updates to service manuals

    + Contribute to the creation and maintenance of training documentation for distributors and internal technicians

    + Manage travel expenses in line with ITW guidelines

    + Support service growth through identifying sales opportunities and recommending products or services to customers

    + Be a positive ambassador for Buehler in all customer interactions

    Qualifications:

    + Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 5–7 years of field-based experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic instrumentation or similar equipment down to the component level

    + Proven commitment to workplace safety through consistent application of best practices and adherence to established safety standards

    + Strong diagnostic skills in both mechanical and electrical systems

    + Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics is required

    + Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record

    + Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments

    + Demonstrates a professional demeanor with strong customer service and interpersonal skills

    + Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment

    + Strong organizational skills and a flexible, adaptable approach to work.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Navision and Dynamics CRM is a plus.

    + Ability to travel domestically within the United States up to 50–70% of the time

    Compensation Information:

    The hourly rate for this position is $35-$45. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
