Job Title: Burn Table Operator

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Compensation: $20 - $28 per hour

Contractor Work Model: 100% onsite work is required

Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Burn Table Operator to join our team! This role involves maintaining a few different pieces of steel fabrication machinery and associate equipment. We utilized a few CNC machines, two Plasma Cutters / Burn Table (large) and employ a team of Welder/Fabricators. This role's primary responsibility is to help maintain our production schedule & production goals based on maintenance needs and ensures smooth communication with management.

Burn Table Responsibilities:

+ Safely operate large scale plasma burn table to cut various metal sheets and plate ranging in thickness up to 6 inches thick

+ Uses burn table equipment to accurately cut rough shapes from steel plate used in the manufacturing process of structural steel components

+ May help run CNC machinery such as SNK, Okuma, Seki and Fadal machinery along with two Press Brake machines.

+ Deciphers basic blue prints, diagrams, sketches and renderings to assist with the protype runs and other production of highly customized steel product

+ Responds promptly to emergency maintenance needs and provide efficient, lasting solutions.

+ Strictly adhere to company safety procedures and manufacturing policies.

+ Perform additional maintenance tasks as assigned.

Production Support:

+ Operate cranes (upon conversion) and forklifts to transport raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods.

+ Manage incoming steel plate inventory and outgoing shipments, including accurate paperwork.

+ Set up and operate bending, burning, and shearing machinery, maintaining precision and adherence to job specifications.

+ Measure and code incoming materials to ensure inventory accuracy.

+ Support smooth workflow by keeping pace with machine operators and preventing production delays.

+ Conduct and document daily forklift inspections and maintain equipment cleanliness.

+ Read and interpret job orders accurately and communicate with supervisors to ensure clarity.

+ Demonstrate expert welding and fitting skills.

+ Perform additional production-related duties as needed.

Burn Table Operator Requirements

+ High school diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school training or education is highly desirable such as engineering studies, vocational skills training such as Welding or Industrial Maintenance Mechanic schooling / apprenticeship.

+ Must have at least one (1) year working in manufacturing, preferably within the steel manufacturing and fabricating.

+ Knowledgeable in heavy rigging, lifting, and safe equipment handling methods.

+ Strong background in general steel fabrication: welding, fitting, cutting, bending, punching, and painting.

+ Basic math and reading comprehension skills.

+ Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
