    THE ROLE

    The Event Meeting Manager will report to the Director of Sales & Marketing for special events at AT&T Discovery District. This role will be responsible for supporting all activities within the Discovery District. Focusing specifically on detailing and managing internal client events. The ideal candidate will have established contacts in the corporate and social markets to rely on while building a solid book of business.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    + Qualify leads, draft proposals and contracts

    + Convert internal inbound leads to confirmed events

    + Monitor changes and new developments in the special events industry

    + Manage the events calendar, conduct site visits and be the primary contact for clients

    + Prepare and provide required documents and reports for the Director of Sales & Marketing including but not limited to banquet event orders, event invoices, revenue reports, prospect/tentative/turndown reports and sales recaps

    + Obtain feedback from clients following each special event to determine and analyze client satisfaction, organizational performance, and event-related risks and liabilities

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

     

    + Resourceful, innovative and forward thinking, with an entrepreneurial spirit

    + Working knowledge of local and regional markets, venue operations, and special events industries

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

    + Ability to effectively evaluate risks and liabilities of special events

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    + Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheet, database, CRM and word processing programs

    + Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary

    + Four or more years of event sales experience required

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience and/or training

    + Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and additional job specific safety training
